A Message from Dr. Burton: Ensuring the Future of Your Vision Care

January 5, 2026

As a second-generation eye doctor deeply rooted in the communities Vision Solutions serves, it truly matters to me that you and your family continue to have access to the highest standard of eye care—close to home.

As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond, I’d like to share three commitments that guide how my team and I will continue supporting your vision, eye health, and overall wellness.

1. Ensuring Local Access to Exceptional Doctor Care

Providing outstanding care starts with outstanding doctors.

I’ve made it a personal mission to recruit and support the next generation of exceptional eye doctors at Vision Solutions. Most recently, we welcomed Lamar native Dr. Austin Boice to our professional team.

With Dr. Boice’s addition, we’re able to offer:

  • More appointment availability

  • Expanded access to medical and preventive eye care

  • Continued continuity of care right here in our community

Thank you for the warm welcome you’ve extended to Dr. Boice since his arrival in July—we’re grateful to have him caring for our patients.

2. Advancing Vision Wellness Through Innovation

Your eyes are closely connected to your overall health. That’s why we continue investing in advanced diagnostic technology and thoughtfully adopting new tools that enhance both vision and wellness.

New for 2026

OCTA Retinal Imaging
Medical eye patients will now receive the diagnostic benefits of OCTA—a quick, painless 3D scan that shows blood flow in the back of the eye. OCTA helps our doctors detect retinal conditions earlier, without the need for dye injections.

Enhanced Lens Solutions

  • For patients who spend extended time on digital screens, we offer Sequel® eyeglass lenses, designed to improve comfort and clarity.

  • For children ages 6 to 12, we now offer Stellest® eyeglass lenses, an FDA-approved lens technology that corrects myopia (nearsightedness) and helps slow its progression.

These additions build upon enhancements introduced in 2025, including:

  • Low-level light therapy for dry eye relief

  • Nutritional eye support for diabetic patients

  • Lenses designed to reduce eye fatigue

  • AI-enabled smart eyewear

  • Glasses for migraine and light sensitivity

Our goal is simple: to provide forward-thinking care that protects your vision today and supports your long-term health.

3. Expanding Value and Affordability Options

We understand that affordability is a concern for many families—and we believe quality eye care should remain accessible.

Introducing 417 Eyewear

Last month, we proudly launched 417 Eyewear, our in-house frame collection that combines style, quality, value, and community giving.

Created with the same manufacturer behind Warby Parker, the collection features 30 modern frame styles priced competitively with online retailers—without sacrificing the personalized service and precise fitting only possible in-office.

Even better, every pair purchased gives back: $4.17 is donated to local nonprofits addressing food insecurity, supporting the communities we call home.

Vision Membership Plans

For patients without vision insurance, we continue to offer vision membership plans that:

  • Help balance your budget with predictable monthly payments

  • Provide savings on exams, eyewear, and services

  • Offer additional value through family plan options

Thank You for Trusting Vision Solutions

As we begin a new year, my team and I are truly grateful for the trust you place in Vision Solutions. It is both our privilege and our commitment to provide you with the highest standard of eye care available—right here, close to home—for many years to come.

If you have questions about any of these new services or would like to schedule an appointment, we’re always here to help.
